Here’s a look at the fine writers we have here at Detroit City Limits:
Annette Compo: Annette Compo is a Radio Personality and Nationally Recognized Real Estate Expert of the radio show, Real Estate 411. She has been on multiple radio programming like ABC News, CBS Radio and WJR AM760 heard throughout the US. Annette Compo has captured the eyes of real estate economists requesting her as a key note speaker for the housing industry and has worked with state and national legislation by sharing her views on Real Estate Economics. She continues to write and publishes the newspaper, Detroit City Limits.
Michelle Fallen: My name is Michelle Fallena. I reside in downtown Detroit and I work at a popular historical church in midtown; First Congregational. Public relations, cooking and writing are my hobbies. When possible I love to travel. I have a cookbook in two Detroit libraries and I write for Detroit City Limits paper.
Jane Peterson: Jane Peterson has been a journalist for more than 20 years, working at newspapers such as The Oakland Press, The Holly Herald and The Berrien County Record. A graduate of Western Michigan University, today she is a freelance writer who writes articles and other materials for newspapers, online publications and private clients. Sarah Rigg: Sarah Rigg is a freelance writer, editor and media consultant based in southeast Michigan. She has been involved in journalism since writing for and later editing her high school newspaper. She has won multiple awards from the Michigan Press Association. She loves working for Detroit City Limits because it’s always more fun to focus on the positive.
Russ Bisinger: I was born and live in Livonia with my family close to relatives. I graduated from Wayne State University. I have enjoyed exploring Detroit since I was a child. I also enjoy charity work and getting outdoors.
Willie E. Brake: Willie E. Brake is President/CEO of All About Technology, Inc. He is committed to building a bridge to the digital divide by providing computer sales and service for the community. Prior to All About Technology, Willie spent more than 12 years holding increasingly responsible positions at Fortune 100 companies in the automobile, consulting, education and manufacturing industries in locations around the world. Willie is simultaneously the Executive Director for the Center For Creative Arts, Inc. and an adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University and The University of Phoenix. Willie has been recognized by Corp! and dBusiness Magazine for his achievements. He also serves as an employment partner and provides insight from a marketplace perspective to help youth, through internships and job shadows gain meaningful work experience. Willie is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and earned a bachelor degree from Wayne State University and a MBA degree from The University of Phoenix. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Willie is the proud father of one daughter, Olivia Madison.
Phil Stayhue: Writer Phil Stayhue has contributed to Detroit City Limits since the publication’s launch. He’s worked for The Oxford Leader, The Oakland Press, and GM Edge magazine. Erica N. Rakowicz: is a writer, poet and general enthusiast. She’s been a journalist for the last few years and it’s all made her louder and softer depending on where the hands are on the clock and what’s happening outside the window. She lives in Detroit with hopes to give inner-city students the push they need to know they can be whatever they want even if their surroundings knock their pride down a notch on an off day.
