The Detroit Blues Heritage Series Presents: Detroit Funk Blues

On Saturday November 24, 2018 The Detroit Blues Heritage Series will present Detroit Funk Blues. This event will take place at the Historic Scarab Club, 217 Farnsworth in Detroit’s Cultural Center. A $7.00 Donation is requested.

Featured at this event will be Deondre Charelle (P-Funk) on Guitar has collaborated with Parliment Funkadelic before fronting his own band. He steps out of that role to join in this celabration of Funky Blues. Tony Strat P Funk Thomas on Guitar, Tony has worked with George Clinton, The P Funk Allstars, as well as, project such as Jimmy G and the Tackheads and Kiddo. T Money Green began his career in Detroit as Bass player for the Dramatics. He soon joined with George Clinton to work on the release Motor Booty Affair. Dean Ragland had played Drums on many George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic and P Funk Allstar releases. Phil Hale, on Keyboard, has been working with Detroit’s best musicians and can frequently be found backing Detroit’s” Queen of the Blues” Thornetta Davis.

This band will focus the Funk/Blues traditions in Detroit and how they relate to music Detroit.

The Detroit Blues Society is a 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to the preservation, education and advancement of the Blues tradition as it relates to the Metro Detroit area. The Scarab Club 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to promoting a variety of creative expression consisting of the visual, auditory and written arts.
